He says: Disappointing. My least favorite of our Tempranillo cagematch. This wine was very closed on the nose, and in my mouth, didn’t really bring anything new to the table except for mouth-puckering, astringent tannins. Not recommended unless you’re sitting at a Victoria Secret lingerie show and need to control your drool.

She says: The freshest nose out of the three contenders although also the most reserved.  I almost had to snort the wine initially to get any aromas from it.  Lacked the complexity and excitement of the other two wines. El último lugar!

Tasting note

Looks like: Clear, med+ ruby colour, strong concentration in the body
Smells like: Youthful, Med- intensity, Black fruits, black berry, dusty earth, smoke, leather; not very open – would have benefitted from decanting
Tastes like: Dry, med acid, full body, med+ tannin (very astringent), med+ intensity, med alcohol, black fruit, vegetal (mushrooms), hint of chocolate, sweet spice, med length (not very complex)
Summary: Good, Ready to drink/Can develop further (although, does it have enough acid to balance development?)
