He says: A solid wine, but not outstanding for the price, especially considering the other Vouvray we tasted against it was $5 cheaper. I found the finish a bit too tart, and it could have used a bit more acid to balance the tropical fruit and honey notes.

She says: A good example of how wine styles can vary widely not only within the Loire but Vouvray itself.  Riper, richer tropical fruit flavours that translated to a seemingly fuller body although this lacked the balance of the other wine.  I wouldn’t turn it down but if I had the choice, Chateau Gaudrelle would win.

Tasting note

Looks like: Clear, med+ lemon with hints of gold
Smells like: Clean, youthful, med intensity, honeyed nose, hints of butterscotch, honeycomb, sweet candy, melon, banana peel
Tastes like: Dry, med acid, med+ body, med intensity, med alcohol, off-dry initially, citrus/green fruit, minerality, melon, honeydew, tart med finish

Summary: Good to Very Good, Could Develop Further
