He says: I’m a bit sad writing this review because Laughing Stock is a winery that really got me interested in wine: one of the first bottles of non-plonk I ever had was a 2004 Portfolio. It opened my eyes to how a good bottle of wine could blow my mind. That said, this varietal just didn’t do it for me. An out of balance oak influence that hasn’t come together, and a bit flabby with it’s lower acidity. I’m not happy about this one.

She says: Rich, tropical fruit with a strong oak influence meant that this was the biggest of the three wines. It is definitely more of a food wine than an easy drinking summer afternoon sip. For me, the oak was not as well integrated and was on the verge of overpowering the fruit although this may soften with further age.
