He says: Ahhhhhh, thank you, Rodney Strong! After years of ridiculing the Californian style of heavy, oak-bombed, full-bodied Chardonnay, along comes this bottle to renew my faith. The Chalk Hill AVA gets its name from the volcanic soil of chalky white ash, and the result is a minerality and chalkiness that you can smell & taste in the glass. This is a well-balanced wine that would show well against your favorite youthful Burgundy, with plenty of fruit, and an excellent weighty mouthfeel. Highly recommended.

She says: This is my kind of Chardonnay with its lush mouth feel and well integrated oak. Beautiful layers of green apple, stone fruit and minerality all working in harmony. A gem of a wine for the price. Need I say more.
