He says: For a region known for it’s crisp whites, I was a bit surprised to find a wine made from Cabernet Franc. However, having a terroir and climate similar to Bordeaux allows this region to grow red varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and the variety featured in this review. I found the wine to be pretty tame compared to most examples of Cabernet Franc that we drink, and lacking in varietal character. A very linear wine with a smooth mouthfeel, and dusty tannins. The aromas are fairly standard with fruit, sweet spice, and a hint of oak prominent. A decent buy at $16.

She says: I would find this wine hard to pick as a Cabernet Franc in a blind tasting. It was almost impossible to smell or taste any of the green vegetal qualities that usually go with this varietal. It was a relatively simple wine, quite light in body compared to the Chinon with sweet baked cherry and cassis that had a hint of a medicinal to it. An interesting wine but far from mind blowing.
