2002 Rotllan Torra Priorat Amadis

Amadis2

WineHater says: A well made and enjoyable wine that is not overpriced.

He says: For me, it was an excellent wine, but not outstanding. I’d have no problem paying $50 for it though…

She says: Nothing really memorable about this and I would have expected more from a Spanish wine with 6 years of age.

He says: Pretty simple easy sipper.

Had a Glass: 2008 Bodegas Luzon Jumilla Alaja

She says: Ripe baked black oaky fruit bomb!

He says: Overly sweet and way too much oak.

2009 Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Rosado

MarquesRosé3

She says: Could easily drink a bottle on a sunny afternoon… if only we still had some sunshine to come… wishful thinking?

He says: A decent Rosé for $15. I liked the simple fruit-forward nose/palate, with some hints of cream soda both in smell and texture.

2009 Vacceos Rueda Rosado

VacceosRosé4

She says: It is not often we don’t finish a bottle of wine when we open it but this one went back in the fridge until a couple of days later. It either improved in this time or my expectations were so low that it somehow didn’t seem so bad.

He says: A strange Rosé to say the least in that the drapes don’t match the carpet.

2004 Tinto Figuero Crianza

TintoFiguero5

She says: This deserved the official stamp of the Ribera del Dureo… to me this is the Corazón (heart) of the Duero.

He says: Is it a lot of money? Yes (for some). However, if you’re going to the Okanagan and buying 2-3 year old red wines for $30-40 (or paying more while dining out), do yourself a favor and try something with age, sophistication, and grace, for exactly the same price.
